World Health Organization (WHO) says approximately 280 million people in the world has depression. Depression is about 50percent more common among women than men. Worldwide, more than 10 percent of pregnant women and women who have just given birth experience depression.

Depression is quite common in women according to data; women suffering from depression may show some symptoms. We need  to identify them on time.

Stress is a problem that everyone has to face at some point or other. Stress and anxiety arise due to imbalance between mental and external circumstances. When stress and anxiety increase continuously, it takes the form of depression.

Depression is a problem in which a person is going through a stressful situation for a long time. Many women suffer from depression in the world. Women feel shame. Due to fear of isolation from family and society, they do not share this problem with others. Slowly and steadily the level of depression in women starts increasing a lot. Due to increasing depression, many types of hormonal changes are seen in women.  Let us know the symptoms seen in women because of depression.

1.       Change in duration of periods:  Irregular periods related to lifestyle, such as stress, body weight and smoking status. Women are at greater risk of developing depression and stress complaint of irregular periods. It may happen due to stress and anxiety. Depression forces women soon fail to prey to menopause, due to which many changes start appearing in their body.

2.       Careless in diet: Symptoms persist differently person by person. Many times women’s eating habits become uncontrolled due to depression. There are some women who would start overeating. Some women may stop eating and drinking due to depression. Both these conditions are fatal for women. Careless in diet is also an important symptom of depression.

3.       Reluctant to do daily tasks: Depression destroys the inner moral of women as well as men. Women have to engage in household works but depressed women reluctant to do daily works. Anxiety leads into frustration. Careless diet increases disinterest in doing works. The desire ends, wants and expectations loss. Everything looks desperate to them. Depression starts increasing further.

4.       Irregular sleep disturbs: Mental health is concern with our mind. Mind needs rest so we have to sleep. Depression has a deep connection with sleep. Especially women, many types of effects of depression are seen. Women suffering from depression either sleep too much or do not sleep at night. If you have to go through such a situation while sleeping, and then understand that you are suffering from depression.

5.       Feeling bored: Depression collapses your inner energy to enjoy with everything what you have. Depression brings unhappy feelings and inferior feelings too. Women cannot resist such circumstances so it increases depression.  If you are not able to feel joy that made you happy in the past then think of depression and go to doctors and take treatment of depression.

6.       Feeling tired quickly: Every aspects of health is shadowed by depression. Your body is badly affected by bad sleep, anxiety, imbalance in eating and work; slowly makes you lay and inactive. You may feel weak and fragile. Women are very busy with their household and outside work. Despite a lot of work, they always have smile on their face. But if they are getting tired after doing small tasks then you should understand that they are suffering from depression. Feeling tired after doing small tasks all the time can be a serious symptoms of depression.

7.       Lack of self confidence: Self confidence is an invisible force that contributes a lot to the victory and defeat of a person. If women do not have self confidence will soon get tired and give up everything from life as well as life too. Lack of self confidence transform women into losers. Feeling of losers’ destroys their mental health. It is also a main cause of depression.

8.       Full of worries: Worries, doubts and anxieties are a normal part of life. But in women, normal worries become excessive when it’s persistent and uncontrollable. If you are overwhelmed by exaggerated worries and tensions it causes depressions.

9.       Disinterested in sexual relationship: Lack of interest in sex is also a symptoms of depression. Depressive mood cannot feel any joy in physical intercourse. Women suffering from depression are not able to keep their partners happy. During depression, they lose interest in sex. Due to that they may also have problems related to sex.

10.   Being considered worthless: Feeling of worthless is very common in women during depression. They start to feel weak in everything. They feel that they are no longer capable of doing any work. Now no one cares them. It increases depression.

A woman is your mother, sister, wife, daughter etc. She gave you birth in this beautiful world. She needs good support and love from you. A woman is symbol of life because she gives a life. Women are the backbone of our family and society. They give us love and care. In the phase of depression, you must care her. Their words need to be understood. Their feelings can be understood. Due to this, their inner feelings can come out and they can come out of depression.

In this situation, women need positive thoughts; you should not perform selfish nature, just show and support her. You must handle her tenderly and listen her pain and feel it. If you notice irregular worries, irritation, lack of hope, sad and lunatic behaviors, show them to a good mental health doctor or psychologist or counselors.
